02. My Journey: From Research to Revenue

I didn't follow the typical path. While completing my PhD in Data Visualisation and Machine Learning at Swansea University, I was already thinking about how to turn research into products that solve real problems.

The Academic Phase gave me deep technical foundations. My research in visual analytics and multi-dimensional data visualisation wasn't just theoretical - I was solving problems that would later become core to how enterprises understand their data.

The Entrepreneur Phase proved I could execute. I co-founded Curiosity Software and bootstrapped it from my PhD thesis to a multi-million dollar company serving clients across 6 countries. No VC funding, no incubators - just relentless focus on customer value.

The Innovation Phase is where I am now. While co-founding Autonify.ai (building agentic data systems), I'm also partnering with select startups as their technical co-founder. I've learnt that the best innovations come from working across multiple domains - my own ventures teach me what scales, while helping founders build their MVPs keeps me grounded in what actually ships.
